Grandma’s hair
The expression granny's hair has nothing to do with grandma at all, maybe it just reminds us of grandma because of the white color.
הַבִּיטּוּי "שַׂעֲרוֹת סָבְתָא" בִּכְלָל לֹא קָשׁוּר לְסָבְתָא, אוּלַי זֶה רַק מַזְכִּיר סָבְתָא בִּגְלַל הַצֶּבַע הַלָּבָן.
Granny's hair is a candy that is usually eaten at parties, Independence Day and events that are usually held outdoors and is also called cotton candy.
"שַׂעֲרוֹת סָבְתָא" הוּא מַמְתָּק שֶׁנּוֹהֲגִים לֶאֱכוֹל בִּמְסִיבּוֹת, בְּיוֹם הָעַצְמָאוּת וּבְאֵירוּעִים שֶׁעוֹשִׂים בְּדֶרֶךְ כְּלָל בַּחוּץ וְהוּא נִקְרָא גַּם צֶמֶר גֶּפֶן מָתוֹק.
Granny's hair is made by heating sugar in a machine that spins the sugar quickly and creates sweet threads of sugar. These threads are collected into a package on a stick and eaten immediately while it is hot.
אֶת שַׂעֲרוֹת הַסָּבְתָא מְכִינִים עַל יְדֵי חִימּוּם שֶׁל סוּכָּר בִּמְכוֹנָה שֶׁמְּסוֹבֶבֶת אֶת הַסּוּכָּר בִּמְהִירוּת וְיוֹצֶרֶת חוּטִים מְתוּקִים שֶׁל סוּכָּר. הַחוּטִים הָאֵלֶּה נֶאֱסָפִים לַחֲבִילָה עַל מַקֵּל וְאוֹכְלִים אֶת זֶה מִיָּד כְּשֶׁזֶּה חַם.
