Uncle - Aunt
The uncle is the brother of the father or mother, and the aunt is the sister of the mother or father.
הַדּוֹד הוּא אָח שֶׁל אַבָּא אוֹ שֶׁל אִמָּא, וְהַדּוֹדָה הִיא אָחוֹת שֶׁל אִמָּא אוֹ שֶׁל אַבָּא.
Uncles and aunts are considered part of the extended family and not the nuclear family.
הַדּוֹדִים וְהַדּוֹדוֹת נֶחֱשָׁבִים לַמִּשְׁפָּחָה הַמּוּרְחֶבֶת וְלֹא לַמִּשְׁפָּחָה הַגַּרְעִינִית.
There are people who meet their uncles and aunts only on holidays, especially on Passover. In many families, all the uncles and aunts sit together around the table for the Passover Seder.
