To know
Some people want to know everything. Sometimes it’s good, but sometimes it can be annoying, because they ask and won’t stop until they get an answer.
יֵשׁ אֲנָשִׁים שֶׁרוֹצִים לָדַעַת הַכֹּל. לִפְעָמִים זֶה טוֹב, אֲבָל לִפְעָמִים זֶה מְעַצְבֵּן, כִּי הֵ ם שׁוֹאֲלִים וְלֹא מַפְסִיקִים עַד שֶׁהֵם מְקַבְּלִים תְּשׁוּבָה.
I wish we could know what will happen in the future. If we could know the future, we would know what the right thing to do is.
הַלְּוַאי וְיָכוֹלְנוּ לָדַעַת מָה יִהְיֶה בֶּעָתִיד.
לוּ הָיִינוּ יְכוֹלִים לָדַעַת מָה יִהְיֶה בֶּעָתִיד הָיִינוּ יְכוֹלִים לָדַעַת מָה הַדָּבָר הַנָּכוֹן לַעֲשׂוֹת.
For example, we would know what to study, we would know which partner to choose in life, and we would know which job we will have.
לְמָשָׁל הָיִינוּ יְכוֹלִים לָדַעַת מָה לִלְמוֹד, הָיִינוּ יְכוֹלִים לָדַעַת בְּאֵיזֶה בֵּן זוּג לִבְחוֹר בַּחַיִּים, הָיִינוּ יְכוֹלִים לָדַעַת בְּאֵיזוֹ עֲבוֹדָה נַעֲבוֹד.
