You can exit through the door, exit from the room, and exit from the elevator.
אֶפְשָׁר לָצֵאת מֵהַדֶּלֶת, אֶפְשָׁר לָצֵאת מֵהַחֶדֶר וְאֶפְשָׁר לָצֵאת מֵהַמַּעֲלִית.
Usually, we use this infinitive when referring to leaving one place and moving to another.
בְּדֶרֶךְ כְּלָל אֲנַחְנוּ מִשְׁתַּמְּשִׁים בְּשֵׁם הַפֹּעַל הַזֶּה כְּשֶׁאֲנַחְנוּ מִתְכַּוְּנִים לַעֲזִיבָה שֶׁל מָקוֹם אֶחָד וּמַעֲבַר לְמָקוֹם אַחֵר.
However, you can also go free, meaning to be released from a situation that is holding you back, like the people of Israel who left Egypt or like a prisoner who finishes his sentence and leaves prison.
אֲבָל אֶפְשָׁר גַּם לָצֵאת לַחוֹפְשִׁי – כְּלוֹמַר לְהִשְׁתַּחְרֵר מִמּ ַצָּב שֶׁעוֹצֵר אוֹתִי, כְּמוֹ בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל שֶׁיָּצְאוּ מִמִּצְרַיִם אוֹ כְּמוֹ אָסִיר שֶׁמְּסַיֵּם אֶת הָעוֹנֶשׁ שֶׁלּוֹ וְיוֹצֵא מֵהַכֶּלֶא.
And if a guy wants to get to know a girl, he might say to her: "Do you want to go out with me?" In other words, he wants to meet her and take her to a restaurant or a movie.
וְאִם בָּחוּר רוֹצֶה לְהַכִּיר בַּחוּרָה הוּא יַגִּיד לָהּ: "אַתְּ רוֹצָה לָצֵאת אִיתִּי?"
כְּלוֹמַר: הוּא רוֹצֶה לְהִפָּגֵשׁ אִתָּהּ וְלָקַחַת אוֹתָהּ לְמִסְעָדָה אוֹ לְקוֹלְנוֹעַ.
Here are some sentences using the infinitive "לָצֵאת":
הִנֵּה כַּמָּה מִשְׁפָּטִים עִם שֵׁם הַפֹּעַל 'לָצֵאת':
1. On a rainy and cold weekend, I prefer to stay at home and not go out anywhere.
1. בְּסוֹף שָׁבוּעַ חוֺרְפִּי וְגָשׁוּם, אֲנִי מַעֲדִיפָה לְהִשָּׁאֵר בַּבַּיִת וְלֹא לָצֵאת לְאַף מָקוֹם.
2. When we want to start a new chapter in life, we must step out of our comfort zone.
2. כַּאֲשֶׁר אָנוּ רוֹצִים לְהַתְחִיל פֶּרֶק חָדָשׁ בַּחַיִּים, אֲנַחְנוּ חַיָּבִים לָצֵאת מֵאֵזוֹר הַנּוֹחוּת.
3. When students finish the school year, they get excited about going on the long summer vacation, where they can stay up late and sleep until the afternoon.
3. כַּאֲשֶׁר תַּלְמִידִים מְסַיְּמִים אֶת שְׁנַת הַלִּימּוּדִים, הֵם מִתְרַגְּשִׁים לָצֵאת לְחוּפְשַׁת קַיִץ אֲרוּכָּה, שֶׁבָּהּ יוּכְלוּ לְבַלּוֹת עַד הַשָּׁעוֹת הַקְּטַנּוֹת שֶׁל הַלַּיְלָה וְלִישׁוֹן עַד שְׁעוֹת הַצָּהֳרַיִם הַמְּאוּחָרוֹת.
4. They say that a wise person doesn't get into trouble, which a clever person knows how to get out of it.
