בָּטָטַת כּוּרְסָה
BATATAT KURSA
A (red) potato couch
When we call someone a "BATATA", we refer to someone who is usually very fat.
כְּשֶׁאֲנַחְנוּ מְכַנִּים מִישֶׁהוּ בַּבִּיטּוּי "בָּטָטָה" אֲנַחְנוּ מִתְכַּוְּנִים לְמִישֶׁהוּ שֶׁהוּא בְּדֶרֶךְ כְּלָל מְאוֹד שָׁמֵן.
In addition, he does not move much, meaning that he does not do any physical activity at all and even reduces his daily movements.
בְּנוֹסָף לָזֶה הוּא, בְּדֶרֶךְ כְּלָל, גַּם לֹא זָז הַרְבֵּה, כְּלוֹמַר לֹא עוֹשֶׂה בִּכְלָל פְּעִילוּת גּוּפָנִית וַאֲפִילּוּ מְצַמְצֵם אֶת הַתְּנוּעוֹת הַיּוֹמְיוֹמִיּוֹת שֶׁלּוֹ.
For example: takes the elevator instead of the stairs, travels by car instead of walking even when the place he needs to get to is very close.
לְמָשָׁל: עוֹלֶה בַּמַּעֲלִית בִּמְקוֹם בַּמַּדְרֵגוֹת, נוֹסֵעַ בְּרֶכֶב בִּמְקוֹם לָלֶכֶת בָּרֶגֶל אֲפִילּוּ כְּשֶׁהַמָּקוֹם שֶׁאֵלָיו הוּא צָרִיךְ לְהַגִּיע ַ מַמָּשׁ קָרוֹב.
When "this BATATA" decides to lie on the couch and waste his time watching TV instead of doing something more meaningful with his time, we call him a "BATATAT KURSA," and this expression is equivalent in English to the expression "Couch potato."
כַּאֲשֶׁר הַ"בָּטָטָה הַזֶּה" מַחְלִיט לִרְבּוֹץ עַל הַכּוּרְסָא וּלְהַשְׁחִית אֶת זְמַנּוֹ בִּצְפִיָּה בַּטֵּלֵוִיזְיָה בִּמְקוֹם לַעֲשׂוֹת מַשֶּׁהוּ יוֹתֵר מַשְׁמָעוּתִי עִם זְמַנּוֹ אֲנַחְנוּ נִקְרָא לוֹ "בָּטָטַת כּוּרְסָא" וְהַבִּיטּוּי הַזֶּה מַקְבִּיל בְּאַנְגְּלִית לַבִּיטּוּי "Couch potato".
