To heat up
Sometimes, I prepare a large amount of food and store it in the fridge. Whoever wants to eat can put it in a container and heat it up in the microwave.
לִפְעָמִים אֲנִי מְכִינָה כַּמּוּת גְּדוֹלָה שֶׁל אוֹכֶל וְשָׂמָה בַּמְּקָרֵר. מִי שֶׁרוֹצֶה לֶאֱכוֹל יָכוֹל לָשִׂים בְּקוּפְסָה וּלְחַמֵּם אוֹתוֹ בַּמִּיקְרוֹ.
If you want to bake a cake or challah, you need to heat the oven before putting the cake or challah inside.
אִם אַתֶּם רוֹצִים לְהָכִין עוּגָה אוֹ חָלוֹת צָרִיךְ לְחַמֵּם אֶת הַתַּנּוּר לִפְנֵי שֶׁמַּכְנִיסִים אֶת הָעוּגָה אוֹ הֶחָלוֹת.
In winter, it’s necessary to heat the house because it's very cold. Usually, I use the air conditioner to heat the house, but if the temperature drops to around 0 degrees outside, I prefer to heat the house with a gas heater, because the air conditioner fails to heat properly.
בַּחוֹרֶף, צָרִיךְ לְחַמֵּם אֶת הַבַּיִת כִּי נוֹרָא קַר. בְּדֶרֶךְ כְּלָל אֲנִי מִשְׁתַּמֶּשֶׁת בְּמַזְגָן כְּדֵי לְחַמֵּם אֶת הַבַּיִת, אֲבָל אִם הַטֶּמְפֵּרָטוּרָה יוֹרֶדֶת לְאֵיזוֹר 0 מַעֲלוֹת בַּחוּץ, אֲנִי מַעֲדִיפָה לְחַמֵּם אֶת הַבַּיִת עִם תַּנּוּר גַּז כִּי הַמַּזְגָן לֹא מַצְלִיחַ לְחַמֵּם.
Sometimes, we arrive at a party, and the atmosphere is quiet and a bit boring, so someone decides to heat things up.
What can be done to heat things up?
You can play rhythmic music and invite people to dance, tell jokes, invite people to play a social game, or pour alcohol. Alcohol always manages to heat up the atmosphere.
