To count
From the day after Passover, we need to count 49 days or seven weeks until Shavuot.
מִיּוֹם לְמָחֳרָת הַפֶּסַח אֲנַחְנוּ צְרִיכִים לִסְפּוֹר 49 יָמִים אוֹ שִׁבְעָה שָׁבוּעוֹת עַד חַג הַשָּׁבוּעוֹת.
So, we can count the days, we can count numbers: one, two, three... And we can also count money—for those who have it.
אָז אֶפְשָׁר לִסְפּוֹר אֶת הַיָּמִים וְאֶפְשָׁר לִסְפּוֹר מִסְפָּרִים: אַחַת, שְׁתַּיִם, שָׁלוֹשׁ...

There is a Hebrew expression: "You can count them on ten fingers" When we use this phrase, we mean: not many!
יֵשׁ לָנוּ בִּיטּוּי בְּעִבְרִית: "אֶפְשָׁר לִסְפ ּוֹר אוֹתוֹ עַל עֶשֶׂר אֶצְבָּעוֹת"
כְּשֶׁאֲנַחְנוּ מִשְׁתַּמְּשִׁים בַּבִּיטּוּי הַזֶּה אֲנַחְנוּ רוֹצִים לְהַגִּיד: לֹא הַרְבֵּה!
Sometimes, when new students join one of my Hebrew classes, they ask the students in the group: "How long have you been learning Hebrew with Miss Mali?" Often, the answer is: "We stopped counting long ago..."

Here are some sentences using the verb "to count":
הִנֵּה כַּמָּה מִשְׁפָּטִים עִם שֵׁם הַפֹּעַל 'לִסְפּוֹר':
1. It is advisable to count to ten before reacting in anger to avoid unnecessary arguments and maintain calmness.

4. During the annual trip, the children tried to count the stars at night but didn't quite succeed.
