A cloud - Clouds
Usually, when we talk about clouds, we think of winter, and when we see clouds during the winter, we’re almost certain that rain is on the way.
בְּדֶרֶךְ כְּלָל כְּשֶׁאֲנַחְנוּ מְדַבְּרִים עַל עֲנָנִים אֲנַחְנוּ מְדַבְּרִים עַל הַחוֹרֶף וּכְשֶׁאֲנַחְנוּ רוֹאִים עֲנָנִים בַּחוֹרֶף אֲנַחְנוּ כִּמְעַט בְּטוּחִים שֶׁתֵּיכֶף יָבוֹא גֶּשֶׁם.
Winter clouds are typically gray, but there are also summer clouds — they are white and, of course, don’t bring rain.
הָעֲנָנִים בַּחוֹרֶף הֵם עֲנָנִים אֲפוֹרִים, אֲבָל יֵשׁ גַּם בַּקַּיִץ עֲנָנִים שֶׁנִּקְרָאִים עַנְנֵי קַיִץ, הַצֶּבַע שֶׁלָּהֶם לָבָן וְהֵם כַּמּוּבָן לֹא מוֹרִידִים גֶּשֶׁם.
Clouds affect how much radiation reaches Earth. If the sky is cloudy, less sunlight penetrates through the atmosphere to the ground.
עֲנָנִים מַשְׁפִּיעִים עַל כַּמּוּת הַקְּרִינָה שֶׁמַּגִּיעָה לְכַדּוּר הָאָרֶץ. אִם הַשָּׁמַיִם מְעוּנָּנִים פָּחוֹת קְרִינָה תַּגִּיעַ לְכַדּוּר הָאָרֶץ.

הִנֵּה כַּמָּה מִשְׁפָּטִים עִם הַמִּילָּה 'עֲנָנִים':
1. On a flight over the mountains, the plane passed through soft clouds that hid the view below.
1. בְּטִיסָה מֵעַל הֶהָרִים, הַמָּטוֹס עָבַר דֶּרֶךְ עֲנָנִים רַכִּים, שֶׁהִסְתִּירוּ אֶת הַנּוֹף שֶׁמִּתַּחְתָּיו.
2. The child learned in class that clouds form when water vapor condenses in cool air.
2. הַיֶּלֶד לָמַד בַּכִּיתָּה שֶׁעֲנָנִים נוֹצָרִים כַּאֲשֶׁר אֵדֵי מַיִם מִתְעַבִּים בָּאֲוִיר הַקַּר.
3. After the rain, the clouds dispersed, and the sun came out to warm the wet streets.
3. אַחֲרֵי הַגֶּשֶׁם, הָעֲנָנִים הִתְפַּזְּרוּ וְהַשֶּׁמֶשׁ יָצְאָה וְחִמְּמָה אֶת הָרְחוֹבוֹת הָרְטוּבִים.
4. I woke up in the morning, and the sky was full of gray clouds. Within minutes, it started to rain.
4. קַמְתִּי בַּבּוֹקֶר וְהַשָּׁמַיִם הָיוּ מְלֵאִים בַּעֲנָנִים אֲפוֹרִים. תּוֹךְ כַּמָּה דַּקּוֹת הִתְחִיל לָרֶדֶת גֶּשֶׁם.
