Seashell
Seashells are the shells found along the seashore and in the water. They’re like beautiful little stones — each one unique in shape and color.
הַצְּדָפִים הֵם הַקּוּנְכִיּוֹת שֶׁנִּמְצָאוֹת עַל חוֹף הַיָּם וּבְתוֹךְ הַמַּיִם וְהֵם כְּמוֹ אֲבָנִים יָפוֹת בְּצ וּרוֹת שׁוֹנוֹת וּבִצְבָעִים שׁוֹנִים.
Seashells are a popular raw material for making jewelry, sculptures, and decorative items due to their natural beauty and distinctive texture. They’re used to create necklaces, bracelets, rings, and earrings.
צְדָפִים הֵם חוֹמֶר גֶּלֶם פּוֹפּוּלָרִי לִיצִירַת תַּכְשִׁיטִים, פְּסָלִים וְחֶפְצֵי נוֹי, בְּשֶׁל יָפְיָם הַטִּבְעִי וְהַמִּרְקָם הַיִּחוּדִי שֶׁלָּהֶם.
צְדָפִים מְשַׁמְּשִׁים לִיצִירַת שַׁרְשְׁרָאוֹת, צְמִידִים, טַבָּעוֹת וַעֲגִילִים.
To be honest, I’m not such a fan of the sea — I prefer the pool, because when we come back from the beach, everything’s full of sand, and it takes a week to get rid of all the grains we brought home! But one of the most delightful things we used to do when the kids were little was to collect seashells.
לְמַעַן הָאֱמֶת, אֲנִי פָּחוֹת אוֹהֶבֶת יָם, אֲנִי מַעֲדִיפָה בְּרֵיכָה כִּי כַּאֲשֶׁר חוֹזְרִים הַבַּיְתָה מֵהַיָּם הַכֹּל מָלֵא בְּחוֹל וְזֶה לוֹקֵחַ שָׁבוּעַ לְהִפָּטֵר מִכָּל הַחוֹל שֶׁהֵבֵאנוּ אִתָּנוּ. אֲבָל אֶחַד הַדְּבָרִים הֲכִי כֵּיפִיִּים שֶׁהָיִינוּ עוֹשִׂים כְּשֶׁהָיִינוּ הוֹלְכִים לַיָּם עִם הַיְּלָדִים (כְּשֶׁהֵם הָיוּ קְטַנִּים) הוּא לֶאֱסוֹף צְדָפִים.
First, we’d gather shells to decorate the sandcastle we built. Then we’d collect more to take home — to put in the fish aquarium, and sometimes we’d even use them to decorate a little corner of the garden.
